Eddie Hobbs: Is Ireland Falling to a Totalitarian Regime?
A Patriot’s Warning on Freedom, Power, and a Nation at Risk
We recently sat down with Eddie Hobbs—journalist, author, public speaker, and unapologetic Irish patriot—for a gripping 90-minute interview that pulls no punches.
Known to many as the consumer crusader who took on Ireland’s rip-off culture in RTE’s Rip-Off Republic, Hobbs has evolved into a fierce critic of what he sees as a creeping authoritarian shadow over his homeland.
His warning? Ireland’s societal structure and cohesion is fraying, under the oppressive burdens of an uncaring, inhumane Irish regime willing to sell out its own People by trading democratic freedoms for a Bio-Digital Technocracy.
And what makes it worse is that the Irish People seem to be largely sleepwalking into this morass in which their own children’s futures will be given over to the Globalist plans of Agenda 2030.
The Eddie Hobbs in this interview with FreeNZ’s Liz Gunn, is no longer the Irish media personality Eddie Hobbs of ‘Mortgage Advice’ or ‘TV soundbites’. This is a man who has spent years sharpening the focus of his precision lens on the wielding of power—both local and global—and who now believes that Ireland stands at an absolutely crucial crossroads.
In this conversation, he unpacks a chilling scenario:
Government overreach, Digital IDs, vaccine passports, and Chinese-style centralized control are no longer distant dystopias, but real threats which are eroding the soul of the once fiercely proud and independent Irish Nation. His Killarney Declaration, launched in May 2024 outside the Global Economic Summit, isn’t just a manifesto—it’s a battle cry to “reclaim Ireland” from what he calls a fusion of state, corporate, and NGO agendas.
Hobbs does not mince his words. And his warnings serve as an important wake up call for the People of the West whose globalist puppet governments are selling us out everywhere.
Here in New Zealand, the globalist PM Luxon has been in India in the last weeks, fawning over the Indian PM and promising to throw the borders of New Zealand open to whatever Indians wish to move to our country, despite our roads and schools and hospitals no longer being able to cope with the desperate overcrowding we have in Auckland, for example, and with many of our young Kiwis abandoning the dream of buying their own homes.
The truth is that Luxon’s corrupt WEF government is selling out Kiwis as quickly as the Irish government is selling out the dreams of the People of Ireland. It’s the same brutal playbook.
Eddie Hobbs points to the COVID-19 years as a turning point when, he argues, the Irish state and institutions like the HSE (The Health Service Executive (HSE) provides public health and social care services to everyone living in Ireland) turned away from representing the People by silencing dissent, sidelining expert disagreement, and laying the groundwork for broader centralised government control. He ties this to global moves like the World Health Organization’s push for a Pandemic Treaty that would totally overrule the wishes of the People, and would negate national Irish sovereignty.
Hobbs also raises the issue of the World Economic Forum’s ‘Stakeholder Capitalism’ , which he sees as a blueprint for dismantling National Sovereignty. “Stakeholder capitalism is a replacement for our democracies.” explains Hobbs, “The control grid will… at the centre of it… have digital IDs.”
Many people are still unaware of what defines a Bio-Digital Technocracy. For Hobbs, it’s the end-game of centralised government ‘control tools’, like surveillance-enabled Digital IDs, Central Bank Digital Currencies, and Health Passports—a system where your every move, transaction, and choice is all tracked, traced and shaped by faceless authorities in a system redolent of George Orwell’s ominous ‘1984’.
This now rapid creep of authoritarianism in Western nations sources directly back to the grey and faceless ‘ordinary bureaucrats’, to the too-willingly-compliant citizens, and to the relentless and torturous drip of policies that are on track to lock Ireland and its once rebellious, independent, feisty People into a suffocating cage of control.
Ireland’s homogenous society, its family structures, its very sense of self - all of which have been destabilized by housing crises, immigration tensions, and the menacing and unjustified looming ‘hate speech’ laws - are symptoms of a deeper societal rot. Hobbs argues these aren’t random failures but rather, the fallout of a regime prioritising globalist agendas over the interests or wishes of its People. But it’s time for the people to stand up:
“I can tell you over here, the way the political antennae work is that as soon as the political establishment feel that the people are changing, there's a shift in the wind, they'll shift with it because they lead from behind.
But the actual psychological step of rolling up your sleeves and getting something done locally, getting something done nationally, taking action, that's the only way through this.”
Eddie Hobbs stands as an important voice not only for Ireland but for a world that is being thrown into the globalist abyss so that the few - the ‘parasite class’- can have it all, while the majority are controlled and used as a slave labour force, or else totally sidelined. His track record as a Consumer Advocate, exposing systemic flaws when others stayed silent, gives him a credibility that is hard to shrug off. He is brave and outspoken, and he knows his facts, and he has done his research. All of which makes his public speaking engagements hugely popular and well worth supporting.
Ireland’s current quickening pulse—rising discontent, fractured trust in institutions and in the arrogant government who dismiss the needs and concerns of the Irish People—lend the warnings of Eddie Hobbs in this interview, a resonance and gravitas that is tough to ignore.

If Luxon wants to focus on productivity he may as well put a broom up his arse and sweep the floor if he thinks importing more lazy Indian nationals is the answer. They are the slowest race in the world
