Meryl Nass & Andrew Bridgen - Monkeypox & Other Matters
Recent Conversation With Two International Voices
We speak with physician & writer Meryl Nass & former UK parliamentarian Andrew Bridgen about the recent scaremongering around monkeypox, as well as the myriad other issues happening in the world of late.
Transcript of the top clip, taken from the full interview:
[LIZ GUNN] “We can see that they are pressing on, the World Health Organization. Tedros has said that monkeypox is a real threat.
Meryl, how real is the threat of monkeypox?
[MERYL NASS] So the monkeypox that we had last year and the year before supposedly affected 100,000 people and there were 208 deaths.
So 0.2 percent death rate. But many of those people were end stage Aids.
So we don't really know whether there is a mortality rate in healthy -otherwise healthy- people.
And the authorities haven't seen fit to tell us what it is that's actually killing people from monkeypox, because normally it's a very minor illness like chickenpox or shingles, and they say children are getting it.
But then they say 95 percent of the cases in Africa … for which they have information on transmission, were sexually transmitted.
So really, were there really hundreds or thousands of children with this?
It's not likely.
[LIZ GUNN] It's very odd, you know, last time with Covid-19, with building up the pandemic, “we must save the old people”.
And once a lot of old people started dying, it seemed they didn't matter as they had at the beginning in the hysteria.
Now, their focus seems to be it might hurt the young: “it might hurt the young”.
They try to take these two extremes at either end of life.
To me, it feels like propaganda, Meryl. It feels like whipping up hysteria.
[ MERYL NASS] Yes. So a baby can die from almost anything, you know, from diarrhoea or from a cold if they get dehydrated. So certainly it's possible the babies are dying from dehydration when they get monkeypox.
But if so, the problem isn't monkeypox, a mild viral disease.
The problem is they're not getting fluids.
You know, they're not, they don't have oral rehydration fluids, which is why people die from cholera in Africa, because they don't have the oral rehydration fluids that were more available in Latin America, say, when they had cholera.
So it's really critical that we find out if people are dying, what are they dying from? You know, what are the actual symptoms of this disease that makes it severe, that makes it more than just, you know, an episode of shingles or chickenpox?
And by the way, in the United States, there's only one person a year who dies of chickenpox.
[LIZ GUNN] How worried are you Andrew, as a man, you know, as you are, who's seen so much propaganda washing past you while you were in parliament and now you're outside of parliament watching Kier Starmer basically use propaganda to put fear into the United Kingdom?
How worried are you about this monkeypox?
[ANDREW BRIDGEN] I'm not worried about monkeypox. I think what Meryl says is very sage. We don't have much detail about if it were as dangerous as it is, we'd be seeing the real science behind the symptoms and the casualties.
But I am very worried about the WHO and their director general announcing another public health emergency of international concern, a pandemic and seeking to influence our governments.
I'm also very worried that the Pandemic Treaty and the Amendments, the International Health Regulations will go through very shortly through our departments and we'll be giving these people even more power to declare emergencies, take sovereign powers, well, unilateral powers over nations, and act with absolute impunity from being held to account: tyranny across nations, lockdowns, forced vaccines and mask mandates.
And of course, as I've said, being interviewed by you before, the WHO have never conducted any review of the decisions that their recommendations during the so-called COVID-19 pandemic, so sure are they that they've made all the right choices for us.
And those who failed to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.
So it will be exactly the same as we've seen before.
It will be mandates, lockdowns, masking, all the things which real science, independent science says really didn't work and have certainly harmed a huge proportion of our populations.”
