The national anthem has inspired me since I learned it as a 10 year old in 1961. Each Anzac Day we remember the heroic young people who gave their lives to defend the values espoused by God Defend New Zealand. Since parading on my own (what an oxymoron) outside my gate at dawn on Anzac Day 2020, I have wondered what happened to the freedoms they fought for.

In 2020 I saw what was happening to your country and it was so tyrannical and Australia was right behind you.
I could not believe my eyes!
It was so odd that people in the states would just stare at you when you would mention it, like “what the heck are you watching”😙
